Sustainability Review
The ABN AMRO Sustainability Review 2007 is a joint effort between ABN AMRO and our consortium partners Fortis, RBS and Santander. It is quite unique: not only does it record ABN AMRO's sustainability activities of the past and present, but also outlines our new future within the consortium context.
From 2003 to 2006, ABN AMRO issued leading sustainability reports compliant with the highest sustainability reporting guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative and with positive assurance from Ernst & Young. However, due to the developments at the bank, this proved to be impossible in 2007. Therefore, the approach taken was to issue a concise, text driven transition-related document.
ABN AMRO’s recognition as a financial sector leader in sustainability is a source of pride for all of us connected with the bank. Highlighting our achievements in 2007, this Review looks at the past, present and future of ABN AMRO’s sustainability activities. It is truly a joint effort between ABN AMRO and our consortium partners and includes statements from all the consortium banks. It outlines the achievements in the field of sustainability during a remarkable year and passes the baton on.
Each of the three consortium members has a reputable track record in terms of corporate responsibility. In this way, the acquisition of ABN AMRO brings opportunities for innovation and new beginnings to all involved.
